Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Deep and intense red color
Palate: tender, fine and present aromas. Long and generous finish.
Nose: complex and fruity nose, notes of red and black fruits, notes of liquorice and garrigue

Grapes Varietals:

 Syrah,  Mourvèdre, Grenache.

Since the 2015 vintage, the estate has been certified organic farming, with an approach to respect the environment that has been undertaken for many years.

Terroir and grape varieties of Montcalmès red 2017:

  The average age of the vines is 30 years with yields of 25 hl/ha.

The vineyard of the Montcalmès estate is made up of Syrah and Grenache vines planted on a limestone plateau (lake limestone) facing north. On Aniane, Mourvèdres are planted on plots facing South and North-West, on soil of rolled pebbles as in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
