Peyre Rose Marlène N3 2008

This cuvée comes from an ingenious blend of 65% Syrah and 35% Grenache. This cru is the earliest, bewitched by this sunny climate, on hard to friable limestone soils. The premier cru produced is 2002 and this seventh vintage is the spearhead of the range.

We find here the whole framework of the other cuvées in this very complete and very southern style around southern spices, black fruits and smoke. On this 2008, the notes of fresh liquorice, thyme and menthol give a new dimension of camphor that is more than welcome. The mouth, straight, balanced and tense is cut in a tight and very elongated texture. Great length and great potential.

The Winery:

Of the 25 hectares of Domaine Peyre Rose, 23 hectares are devoted to the production of red wine and 2 hectares to white wine. The vines benefit from a Mediterranean climate on stony valleys composed of clay, limestone and friable rocks... Since its creation, the estate has been cultivated organically, without any chemical treatment, in order to allow the grapes to fully express and their terroir in an authentic way. The Estate has also received the Organic Farming label.
