This month’s Masterclass will explore their relationship and the rich tapestry of flavours and traditions in both their food and wine of these two adjacent wine regions. While they share a common thread of winemaking excellence, the Northern Rhône and Savoie offer distinct experiences for wine enthusiasts. Whether you’re savouring a bold Syrah from Côte Rôtie or enjoying a crisp Jacquère from Savoie, both regions contribute to France’s rich viticultural heritage. Compared to other wines, the wines of the northern Rhône and Savoie showcase regional terroir, specific grape varieties, and unique winemaking traditions.
Taking the helm in the kitchen today will be esteemed Chef Patrice Repellin who hails from the Savoie wine region in France and has spent 30 years in the kitchen, with 15 years at the helm of his own hatted restaurant in Kooyong, Koots Salle à Manger. He is therefore the ideal guide to take us on a food journey through these two regions and learn what makes them ideal food wines.
