Tasting Notes:

This cuvée is only made in the great vintages, it comes from a plot of the commune of Chaintres composed of clay-limestone soils with a dominant Turonian. The harvest is manual, with sorting on the table. Fermentation lasts 22 to 24 days. Aging takes place over 12 months in new 228L barrels.

Lots of depth for this “Marginale” cuvée. The intense ruby offers a very scalable nose in the glass with a fruitiness around blackberry and blackcurrant followed by aeration by rose, liquorice and spices. On the palate, the texture is fine but very sapid with a formidable mineral hold that balances everything. We feel a very nice richness in the mouth and tannins of great refinement. Great aging potential, a wine that will blossom from 2022.
