A pure and aromatic white wine from Côtes de Provence
The property
A young agricultural engineer from Alsace, Marcel Ott settled in Provence in 1896 with the ambition that this vineyard ravaged by phylloxera could produce great wines. The Ott family still perpetuates this know-how today to produce a range of rosé, red and white Provence wines from three estates, Château de Selle, Clos Mireille and Château Romassan.
Created by René Ott in the 1930s, the emblematic bottle of Domaines Ott*, recognizable among all, signs the quality of these great wines of Provence. In 2004, Domaines Ott* joined the Louis Roederer house
The vineyard
A very old terroir bordered by maritime influence, the Clos Mireille vineyard is planted on clay shale soils. This microclimate and these exceptional terroirs give birth to very great Côtes de Provence wines.
The vintage
A rare phenomenon, the 2019 vintage began with strong heat in February, contrasted by cooler conditions from April to May, slowing down the vegetative cycle. Flowering took place under optimal conditions with sunny days combined with cool nights.
Excellent sanitary conditions and high temperatures continued until the harvest in mid-August. The harvest is of very good quality with good balance and a beautiful expression of the fruit.
Assembly
Semillon (74%)
Rolle (26%).
