The aromatic richness and delicacy of a rosé wine from Provence
The property
A young agricultural engineer from Alsace, Marcel Ott settled in Provence in 1896 with the ambition that this vineyard ravaged by phylloxera could produce great wines.
The Ott family still perpetuates this know-how today to produce a range of rosé, red and white Provence wines from three estates, Château de Selle, Clos Mireille and Château Romassan.
Created by René Ott in the 1930s, the emblematic bottle of Domaines Ott, recognizable among all, signs the quality of these great wines of Provence.
In 2004, Domaines Ott* joined the Louis Roederer house.
The vineyard
Le Clos Mireille enjoys an exceptional location in La Londe Les Maures. This very old terroir, which enjoys maritime influence, is located on clay schist soils. This microclimate and these exceptional terroirs give birth to great wines.
The vintage
2020 is marked by very mild temperatures and concentrated rainfall from October to March.
Clement, winter favors a bud burst which will be observed at the beginning of March, followed by an optimal and homogeneous flowering thanks to the good spring conditions. The summer heat allows the vines to continue their cycle serenely. The harvest begins on August 12 in order to guarantee maximum balance and freshness in the vintage.
Assembly
The Côtes de Provence Clos Mireille “Rosé Cœur de Grain” 2020 is made from a blend of Grenache (69%), Cinsault (24%), Syrah (2%) and Rolle (5%).
