Château Marchand Bellevue
Bordeaux AOP
Chateau MARCHAND BELLEVUE is in the region Entre-deux-Mers (between two seas), more often referred to as l’Entre-deux-Fleuves (between two rivers) as it lies between the rivers the Dordogne and the Garonne ! So we are on deep clay-limestone soils.
I am Alain Durfourg and I living here since my early childhood, near the village of Targon,between the Abbey of La Sauve-Majeur and the bastide de Sauveterre-de-Guyenne.
In 2010, I took sole control of this domain, inherited from my grandfather, giving it a breath of new life. The former Haut Marchand became MARCHARD BELLEVUE, so named for its exceptional view of an immense sea of vines.
My challenge and my philosophy: to produce quality wines for everyone’s pleasure and respect the soil, the land, and the plant.
‘I don’t apply treatments unless it is necessary –should there be a strong chance of fungus or other high risk’;
’The land is my work tool, and I want it to last a long time. So I strive to produce wines that respect the environment and the plant. Today my vineyard is certified High Environmental Value (HVE),
I weed mechanically and not chemically. I do not intend to stop there! I choice definitively agriculture very reasoned!’
