The property:
To the south of Bordeaux, Château d'Yquem is one of the finest references in the Sauternes appellation. This legendary Premier Cru Classé Supérieur enjoys an exceptional terroir and gives birth to world-sought-after sweet wines.

The vintage:
A vintage marked by capricious weather, 2018 required all the know-how, patience and responsiveness of the Château d’Yquem technical teams. Due to near-tropical conditions with high rainfall and above normal temperatures, the property had to face a significant risk of disease in the vines? avoided thanks to the constant presence of the technical teams. The good weather of the summer months which continued into September allowed the grapes to be brought to optimum maturity with a high potential alcohol content. However, botrytis was slow to appear. The rains at the beginning of October favored its progress. The 2018 Château d'Yquem harvest thus began on October 17, "grain by grain". Most of the harvest took place from October 22 to 27 with fully botrytised berries. These 17 days of harvesting allowed the Château d'Yquem to obtain the best of this vintage called "of winegrowers and winegrowers". The 2018 vintage of Château d'Yquem is a success, rewarding all the efforts made throughout the year.
