Old Kempton Distillery is housed in the grand coaching inn, which was built by a convict embezzler turned-innkeeper, William Ellis in 1842. It was considered one of the finest inns on the road from Hobart to Launceston. The convict brick stables, once home to 22 horses, now houses Old Kempton’s Tasmanian-made copper still.
They produce high-quality small-batch spirits, including a variety of Whiskies and Gins that are worth the trip. They also offer some great experiences and have a delicious cafe to boot...
