The Appellation is located in the south of France, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, a sunny and particularly dry region in the summer. The estate has been kept in the family for many generations and when Eric Mari took over, he decided to focus his work on lower yields and rigorous plot selection to improve quality. Each varietal undergoes a separate vinification and is aged in specific oak barrels depending on its unique profile.
The wines produced are complex, aromatic and of excellent craftmanship. Since 2009 the vineyard is organically farmed and respectful of the environment.
“Gourmandise des bois” is a blend made from Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre grapes. After ageing 10 years in our cellars, the wine is in optimal condition to drink. It is elegant and complex with spicy aromas and hints of cocoa. The mouth is round and structured, with chocolate notes and a long finish. The ageing in new oak barrels (for the most part) brings full, refined tannins. A truly remarkable wine.
