The wine regions of Southern Tasmania include the Derwent Valley, Coal River Valley, and Huon Valley. These regions are known for their cool-climate wines, particularly Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, and sparkling wines. The Derwent Valley is the most well-known wine region in Southern Tasmania and is home to some of the state's oldest and most respected wineries. The Coal River Valley is known for its Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and sparkling wines. The Huon Valley is a relatively new wine region but is quickly gaining a reputation for producing high-quality cool-climate wines.
