Colchagua Valley winery experiences and wine tours

The Colchagua Valley is the third most visited valley in Chile, where it is possible to visit more than 16 small and medium sized wineries. Among them Casa Silva, Koyle, Escondida, Lugarejo, Viu Manent, Clos Apalta, Montes, Neyén, Ravanal, Ventisquero, Apaltagua, Las Niñas, Santa Cruz, Montgras, Estampa, Maquis, La Polkura among others.

It is located 1 hour and 45 minutes from Santiago, and 1 hour from cities such as Curicó, Rancagua and Pichilemu. Its Mediterranean climate and type of soils make it an ideal place to produce high quality wines.

By tradition, since the 90's, its viticulture has been characterised in producing red varieties, such as carménère, sirah, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, however, these last 5 years, new areas have emerged near the coast, where very good whites are being developed, standing out, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and gris, and some cold climate reds, such as syrah and pinot noir.

In relation to its tourist offer, it's a place where you can find different types of restaurants oriented to Chilean food and italian. In relation to places to stay or have a getaway, it has many styles of hotels in wineries, in the countryside or in the City of Santa Cruz.  In 2015, it was chosen by the prestigious Lonely Planet magazine as one of the 10 best destinations for a honeymoon getaway.
