Margan Wines & Restaurant was established in 1996 and is owned and operated by Lisa and Andrew Margan who are proud to have over 100 hectares of quality vineyards, a state of the art winery and striking cellar door and Margan restaurant as part of their onsite wine tourism operations. All the wines of Margan are single vineyard wines produced from grapes grown on the Margan vineyards in the Broke Fordwich sub-region of the Hunter Valley.
Margan is a 5 star winery rated by James Halliday Wine Companion for the last 10 consecutive years, as well as being awarded Hall of Fame for Best Winery at the NSW & Hunter Tourism Awards and Cellar Door of the Year in 2013 and 2018. The beautiful rammed earth Restaurant and Tasting room provide the ideal setting for a unique food and wine experience.
Now in its 24th year of wine production, Margan is committed to looking after the land so that it is able to be sustainable for generations to come. As such, the business is determined to ensure its carbon footprint is as small as possible. It is one of the most accredited wine tourism businesses in the Hunter and indeed Australia, with full accreditation with the Sustainable Winegrowers Australia in recognition of its environmental sustainability initiatives.
